Welcome to PalmFree SunWear, LLC

The PalmFree™ SunGlove was developed from my love of tennis, my career as a Physician Assistant specializing in Dermatology, and the need for preventative healthcare.

As a Dermatology PA I have diagnosed and treated thousands of pre-cancers and skin cancers caused from the ill effects of chronic sun exposure on the backside of the hands. Many patients, including outdoor athletes and workers, complain of the appearance of their rapidly aged and photo-damaged skin from excessive sun exposure.

After years of applying thick sunscreens to the back of my hands, which interfered with my tennis performance, and having purchased just about every ‘palmless’ glove on the market, I found they lacked comfort, a good fit or had Velcro that snagged the fabric or had cumbersome finger loops. I decided to design what I had been looking for and created my own style of ‘palmless’ gloves. The result is a lightweight, UPF 50 sun protective, comfortably fitted, easy-on/easy-off, affordable palmless glove.

As the idea of bringing the PalmFree SunGlove to market grew I wanted to do something more than sell a great sun protective product. While planning out the business I was on one of my semi-annual medical volunteer missions in Chiapas Mexico in which I work with a Mexican humanitarian who provides burn and wound care. The idea of donating all profits to the burn clinic seemed natural and the right thing to do. Today, summer 2016, one year after starting the business, we are now profitable and I’m proud to say, we are now donating our profits to Yok Chij, AC (Mexican NGO).
